RURAL DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE - Current Programs

	India RDI has begun a long-term initiative to establish a set of new, feasible land reform measures—most notably, the distribution of small homestead plots to the rural poor, women, and other marginalized groups.		Former Soviet Union RDI continues more than a decade of work, assisting the governments of several former Soviet republics establish full private rights to agricultural land.
	China RDI is the principal foreign advisor on a land tenure reform that is well on the way to providing the country’s 210 million farm families with secure, 30-year land use rights.		Africa RDI is forming a new program in Africa. Recent engagements in Uganda and Angola have pointed to opportunities for RDI to assist with rural land issues in these and other African countries.
	Indonesia RDI’s Land Law Initiative is assisting the National Land Agency in developing new land-related laws to support rural reform.		Global Homesteads RDI’s groundbreaking Global Homestead Program is helping to combat poverty in two of the world’s most populous and impoverished countries—India and Indonesia.
